It is divided into three branches, which are:
| FET OPEN. Support for new ideas | The Future and Emerging Technologies Open Enabling Technologies (FET OPEN) activities aim to strengthen large, high-risk collaborative scientific and technical research projects. |
| FET PROACTIVE. Promoting emerging issues and communities | Future and Emerging Technologies Proactive (FET PROACTIVE) activities aim to support new and immature areas and themes. |
| FET FLAGSHIPS. Flagship initiatives | Future and Emerging Technologies Flagship Research Initiatives (FET Flagships) are scientific initiatives addressing large-scale interdisciplinary scientific and technological challenges. This requires the collaboration and participation of interdisciplinary research groups addressing these scientific and technological challenges. |
