The European Projects Office of the University of Zaragoza is structured in two work areas:

Promotion and Technical Monitoring Area

The Project Management and Promotion Area is responsible for:

1. Promoting the participation of University researchers in the 7th Framework Programme and other European programmes. To this end, it provides support in the following fields of action:

  • Targeted and qualified dissemination of information.
  • Advice on the suitability of project ideas for the work programmes.
  • Advice on the suitability of different funding schemes for project ideas.
  • Search for partners for projects coordinated by the University of Zaragoza or for those in which it forms part of the Core Group in charge of organising and developing the project.
  • Search for project proposals in which researchers from the University of Zaragoza can be integrated.
  • Preparation of proposals: advice on the definition of the project, adaptation of the project to the requirements of the call, planning, structure of the proposal, preparation of budgets and advice on the design of the Project Plan.
  • Negotiation process with the Commission, the coordinator and the rest of the partners.
  • Contact point of the University of Zaragoza, both for the Commission and for the rest of the partners of the consortium, in all economic, legal and management aspects of the proposals.
Temporarily, this first field of activity of the European Project Manager will include the phases of preparation, negotiation and approval of the proposal and will start with the publication of the calls for projects, concluding on the starting date of the project approved by the Commission. It includes important elements such as advice and negotiation of the legal aspects of this type of projects, consortium agreement between partners, grant agreement with the Commission and intellectual property rights among others.

  • Contact with the Commission and the rest of the partners for all aspects related to the management of the project.
  • Advice on aspects of protection and exploitation of results.
    Closure of the project.

This second area of action begins at the start of each project and ends once the Commission has made the last actual payment for the project. It also includes aspects related to the financial management and administration of the project. It can be said that the European Project Manager will be the responsible and the contact person within the University of Zaragoza for all the management aspects involved in the project.

Economic and Administrative Management Area

The Economic and Administrative Management Area offers the necessary support in all areas of economic and administrative management of the projects, its actions being complementary to those of the Project Management Area.

To this end, it has been assigned the following functions:
