Cancer patients often have to make difficult decisions based on the risk profiles of their treatment options that affect quality of life and survival. There is a lot of complex information that needs to be obtained and understood quickly. Data-driven decision support tools (DSTs) have the potential to assist patients in making decisions and improve personalised care and health outcomes. The EU-funded 4D PICTURE project will continue the development of the Metro Mapping methodology to redesign care pathways, including new summer schedules. Innovative algorithms and artificial intelligence-based models that incorporate patients' experiences and preferences will facilitate treatment decisions. The aim is to develop data-driven DSTs for patients with breast cancer, prostate cancer and melanoma. New DSTs will be evaluated to ensure their ability to address medical questions.
