MAGGRAPHZYME (HORIZON-TMA-MSCA-PF-GF)
Start date: 1 June 2023
End date: 31 May 2026
Project summary
Hybrid platform to induce cancer cell death
Focusing on the mechanisms underlying cancer cell death is key to producing effective multifunctional materials for oncology applications. Funded by the Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Actions programme, the MagGraphZyme project aims to develop a hybrid platform to trigger the intracellular production of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (ROS/RNS). These species will be used to trigger cancer cell death. To enhance ROS/RNS production, the proposed platform will be based on magnetic nanoparticles, N-decorated graphene oxides and a polymer shell (PLGA). In addition, specific signalling pathways will be studied to better understand the different cellular pathways involved in toxicity and cell death.
