Project summary

The overall objective of the SustDesignTex project is to enhance networking activities and establish a long-term strategic partnership between TUL (Faculty of Materials Technology and Textile Design), its leading top-level counterparts at EU level (3 famous universities) and the Polish company active in the field of implementation of the project results. The overall objective will be achieved by exploiting the enormous potential of networking for excellence through knowledge transfer in industrial design of innovative textile structures for composites, based on the joint implementation of a micro research project and a preliminary exchange of best practices between TUL and the partners due to a set of coordination and support activities organised around the micro project. TUL, ITA.project summary

HB and UZ researchers will familiarise each other with real research interests and conditions, train their skills and transfer knowledge on new methodologies and equipment during short-term visits, expert visits, lectures, training sessions, joint research work, conferences and realisation of a joint micro research project for the design and evaluation of new Textile Reinforcing Composites (TRC). TUL will also gain institutional breakthrough in research management and administration, preparation, management and coordination of research projects, and develop the skills of its early stage researchers through the Strengthening TUL Research Management marathon, round tables, workshops and the Joint TUL ESR Summer School. . The Industry-Research Dialogue Platform and the Joint Research and Innovation Roadmap launched in the project will create conditions for constant joint work with industrial partners and support the achievement of the objectives of the Smart Specialisation Strategy of the Lodz Region. The TUL team will acquire expertise in industrial design, processing of textile structures and CRT from leading partners and will become a Centre of Excellence in optimisation of innovative CRT.
